What packing supplies should you get for a move?
Good packing supplies make packing systematic and protect your belongings in transit. At a minimum, it's worth getting the following for your move:
cardboard boxes for packing small and medium-sized items
stretch film for protecting furniture and boxes, for example
bubble wrap and protective materials to wrap around fragile items such as mirrors
a wardrobe box for transporting clothes without creasing
Depending on how much you're moving and how many fragile items you have, it's best to get slightly more protective material than you think you'll need.
Where do you get packing supplies?
Opiskelijamuutot's packing supplies are sold in Cityvarasto's packing-supplies store, which is part of the same Cityvarasto group. The store has the full range from boxes to protective materials, and you can order the supplies online.
Frequently asked questions about packing supplies
What is a wardrobe box?
A wardrobe box is a packing box where clothes hang on their hangers straight from a rail. That way your clothes travel through the move without creasing and you don't need to fold them into a box. It's the speciality of Opiskelijamuutot's packing supplies.
How do I protect mirrors, pictures and other fragile items?
Fragile items such as mirrors and pictures are best protected with bubble wrap and stretch film and packed firmly into a box. Enough protective material prevents scratches and breakage in transit.
Where do I get cardboard boxes for a move?
You'll find cardboard boxes and other packing supplies in Cityvarasto's packing-supplies store. If you need sturdy, reusable boxes, you can also rent plastic moving boxes delivered to your door.
Can I get packing help for my move?
Yes. You can order a packing service with your move, where our staff pack or unpack your belongings for you. Packing help is ordered as a move add-on service.
Should you buy or rent boxes?
For a one-off move, renting sturdy moving boxes is often convenient, because we collect the boxes after the move. If you want to keep the boxes, you can buy cardboard boxes and other supplies from the packing-supplies store.
