Booking your move and scheduling

It's best to book your move at least around 1–2 weeks in advance, which gives you the best chance of getting the most suitable day and time. End-of-month dates in particular (27th–2nd) often fill up several weeks ahead.

There are two start-time options: a morning slot at 9.00–10.00 (a fixed morning time by separate arrangement) or a flexible afternoon slot at 12.00–15.00, or as soon as the team is free from the previous job. The moving team will call you en route at least 30 minutes before arrival. If the start is arranged for after 15.00, any work past 18.00 is charged at +15% on the hourly rate.

Pricing and payment

We always prepare an hourly-rate quote based on your needs, and every quote includes a minimum charge based on the estimated duration. Charging starts when the moving truck leaves our depot (The depots are located across the Helsinki metropolitan area.) and ends when the truck returns to the depot. Billing is per each half hour started, and in the Helsinki metropolitan area depot travel is charged for a maximum of 30 minutes per direction. On Saturdays, +10% is added to the quoted price, and on Sundays and public holidays +75%. The final price depends on the volume of belongings, distances involved, and the duration of the move.

Payment methods include online banking and card payment, MobilePay, and invoice or instalment payment through the payment service Svea after the move. Paying by invoice requires your credit information to be in order. We can also offer email invoicing and cash payment where needed, and we support payment commitments (maksusitoumus) as well as authorisation by a legal guardian. From business customers we need the business ID (Y-tunnus) and billing details.

We don't provide fixed-price quotes, because they aren't the most cost-effective option for the customer. A fixed price always includes a safety margin to cover surprises, which you pay even if the move goes more quickly. An hourly-based quote with a duration estimate reflects the actual length of your move.

Renting moving boxes costs 17 cents per box per day, and the delivery price is determined by your address. For moving-service customers we also lend moving boxes free of charge, provided you collect and return them to our location yourself. See the moving-boxes page for full details.

Preparing for your move

Your belongings should be packed – for example into moving boxes or bags that make them easy to carry. All furniture to be moved should be emptied and ready to move, unless dismantling has been separately agreed. Protect items that damage easily, such as the television, and take apart any furniture that can be dismantled – this speeds up the move.

Pets aren't a problem, as long as they can't get onto the carrying route or near the moving truck during the move. This keeps everyone safe and helps the moving day go smoothly.

Every moving truck has three seats. If there's room in the truck, you're welcome to travel with us for the transfer between locations.

What we move and what we don't

For safety reasons, we don't move the following items:

  • acoustic pianos and grand pianos

  • large safes and gun cabinets

  • hot tubs and outdoor spas

  • especially large terrariums and aquariums

  • large items weighing over 150 kg

  • houseplants on long journeys in winter temperatures

For these, we recommend either transporting them yourself or using a provider that specialises in special transports. If you're unsure, get in touch.

We help with assembling and dismantling items during the move, but our staff don't carry out demanding construction work or electrical installations. We can help with disconnecting washing machines and tumble dryers, but installation requires an authorised fitter. We don't disconnect or install dishwashers, as this requires an authorised professional.

Services and customers

Our add-on moving services include packing help, a protection service, a recycling service, moving boxes, storage, vans, and certain installation and disconnection services. You can read more about them on the add-on services page.
