Transferring Your Internet Connection to a New Address

An internet connection is provided through a service subscription. Transferring it to a new address is an important step during a move. It’s advisable to take care of the transfer properly and well in advance. A good rule of thumb is to arrange the transfer about two weeks before the move to ensure a smooth transition of service to your new home.

The first step is to find out what kind of connection is available in your new home. It’s possible that there’s already a working connection that you can use. If you’re considering a fixed-term agreement, make sure you understand the length of the commitment and any cancellation policies. Many internet contracts are binding for a certain period, and early termination may incur extra costs.
